Could your relationships with your colleagues or your friends and family be bettter?

Would you like to know what REALLY makes you (and those around you) tick?

Are you facing an important decision in your personal or professional life?

Have you recently been promoted and you're wanting a real head-start in your new position?

Would you like to be able to manage your manager?

Is the atmosphere at work making things difficult for some people to focus on their work, and therefore affecting the company bottom-line?

If you've answered ANY of the above with a 'Yes' or even a 'maybe', then the Myers-Briggs profiling tool is exactly what you need. Over 2 MILLION people use the profile each year - it's that powerful and useful. Even more than all this, we can take teams and departments (new and established) to a deeper understanding of how best to work with, motivate, encourage and manage each other.

What will this do for me?

This will help you understand:

  • the basis of your own personality and preferences in life

  • how you make decisions, learn, focus your attention, communicate, view change, manage conflict

  • the kind of team member and leader you might be

  • the kinds of careers and other activities that might attract you based on what you seek to get out of them

  • how others see you and relate to you on a personal and emotional level

  • ... and much more besides

How can I use the information I get from this?

Your coach will take you through the results of your MBTI questionnaire during your one-to-one session and help you understand the information in the context of your reasons for doing it. Most often people use it for:

  • enhancing their relationships with others (personal or work life - it's up to you!)

  • assisting in managing stress

  • managing teams more effectively

  • providing an additional perspective on career or other life choices

  • appreciating diversity in a more meaningful and positive way

  • increasing self-awareness and self-esteem

  • ... and much more besides

What if I decide to do this now?

If you call us on 0845 111 0360 or email us on info@iceandlemon.com, we'll take your details and discuss your reasons for wanting to do this whilst answering any questions you have.

If you're an individual we'll describe how we'll send out a questionnaire for you to answer and return to us in your own time. We'll then set a date for the follow-up session.

If you understand how important and useful this could be for your team or department, we'll talk through the various options available, from simple one day workshops around the basic Step 1 profiles, to full-blown team away-days utilising the more detailed Step 2 profiles to take your team in 3 days what would normally require 4-6 months in the workplace.

[*NOTE: This offer is only open to individuals who are paying from their own funds - if you are a corporate client then call now for prices. Also be aware that iceandlemon do NOT offer on-line versions of the MBTI as this conflicts with the ethical requirements of EU MBTI license and the Myers-Briggs model - with any MBTI questionnaire you must have a follow-up session where your results are reported and discussed with you and any questions you have can be answered.]

MBTI Ethics & Best Practice

Shown below is a summary of the main points of the OPP ethical and best practice guidelines that all properly trained and licenced MBTI Practitioners in the EU agree to adhere to.

  • The MBTI questionnaire is categorised as a restricted psychometric tool by the British Psychological Society and, as such, CAN ONLY BE USED BY PROPERLY TRAINED AND LICENCED individuals. Anyone who has not been properly trained, examined and licenced should not administer the questionnaire or interpret the results - anyone who does is acting unethically and possibly unlawfully.

  • The MBTI tools are to be used for inter-personal and intra-personal growth and development. They are explicitly NOT to be used for selection, restriction or discrimination purposes, e.g. candidate selection in interviews, team or group member selection for projects, promotion or redundancy decision-making, etc. - using the MBTI for such activities is UNREASONABLE AND UNETHICAL.

  • The MBTI questionnaire, especially when used in a team context, is ONLY TO BE COMPLETED BY THOSE WHO ARE HAPPY TO DO SO - i.e. it must be a voluntary activity. Coersion, bullying or other means of trying to force an individual into completing the questionnaire is UNETHICAL.

  • The results of any MBTI questionnaire, i.e. a persons Myers-Briggs Type, and any discussion around that IS TOTALLY AND UNRESERVEDLY CONFIDENTIAL, i.e. no-one else is to coerce or otherwise force that individual (or any other, including the MBTI practitioner) to reveal someone's type - only the individual whose type it is may voluntarily share it.

  • Each completed questionnaire is to be accompanied by a feedback session, either one-to-one or as part of a group event, to explain the meaning of the results and answer any questions. Anyone who offers such questionnaires without a proper feedback session (a written report does NOT constitute feedback) is acting UNREASONALBLY AND UNETHICALLY within the Myers-Briggs framework. As such, this may mean that some online services offering MBTI tests may be acting unlawfully, and this also may apply to organisations that offer MBTI profling with just a written report sent or emailed to you.

MORE ABOUT THE MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the world's most consistently used and preferred personal & leadership development and team dynamics tools. Based on Jungian psychology and built and refined with over half a century of research, it's one of the few scientifically backed tools that is designed to emphasise and build on the positive aspects of personality and preference; there are no 'bad' or 'wrong' types, and there are certainly no assessments of having 'too much' or 'too little' of a particular trait or characteristic. Instead, the focus is on understanding ourselves and others and how we can best make use of our individual preferences for our own development, whether in our personal or business lives, and as the basis for building even better team dynamics.

Additionally, the MBTI is a very useful model to use when thinking about communicating and influencing strategies - I was involved in one case where what was normally a 2-3 hour discussion around an annual proposal was reduced to 30-45 minutes when the document and the communication strategy around it were re-jigged based on the MBTI model.

It's also a very useful tool in our relationships with partners and spouses, providing a deeper understanding of each others' way of interacting within the relationship and the outside world.

There are many other tests and tools out there but, in my experience, none is as wide-ranging, powerful, and as deeply researched as the MBTI.

If, after reading this, you'd now like to know more, phone or email to discuss how you will benefit.
