Personal Journey
We’re all on our own personal journey. We work with those who choose to go deeper into discovering themselves and their drives and purpose – past, present and future.
Most of us at key points in life ask ourselves deeper questions. Sometimes is about where we currently are in life, what we’re doing and why, and where we’re headed in the short and long term. Others may be to do with understanding why we think, feel and act in the ways we do. Some questions are about ourselves whilst some are about our relationships with others.
We work with those who are not only willing to ask these types of questions but really do want to explore and find the answers, then act on them.
We use two main tools to help with this, along with others drawn from our coaching processes, in the combination which best matches the client and their needs:
- PMAI® – the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator
- MBTI® II – the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step II
Archetypes
There are lots of fancy definitions of an archetype but the simplest way to describe what they are is to use an example most of us are familiar with – the epic tale. Whether you’ve read them or watched the movies, every time you see a character whose role you recognise as hero, villain, innocent, victim, wise or sagely person, adventurer, explorer etc. you’re looking at an archetype.
The fact that you recognise the role no matter who the actual person is in that role is what makes it an archetype. Archetypes are universal – all cultures recognise them, whether ancient or modern, from across the whole globe.
We use the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator (PMAI) tool to explore the roles you’re currently taking in your life, and the ones that hold the most attraction and the most difficulty for you. The PMAI uses twelve broad and universal archetypes, each of which corresponds to a particular combination of values, mindset and actions, and also a particular stage in your life journey too.
